Keeping the Nostalgia Alive Show!

November 20, 2017

Coach Rick Reeves, and a life in basketball!

Coach Rick Reeves spends over an hour with us keeping the nostalgia alive! Coach Reeves was a Garrett Railroader, who went on and had a long and outstanding coaching career in both Michigan and Indiana. This will also be his 18th year on the Purdue Boilermaker scorers table!

He coached in both MI and IN high school state tournaments and won at the Regional level in both states which put my team in the Indiana Semi-state and the MI quarter-finals of which both were played at collegiate arenas.
While in MI, his Reed City HS Coyotes played in the State Finals in 1982 on the floor of Crisler Arena,
Ann Arbor(home of U. of MI Wolverines basketball)
and while at West Lafayette HS in Indiana, he coached played in the 1989 semi-state at Mackey Arena, home of the Purdue Boilermakers,
He was able to coach great kids at two collegiate(Big Ten venues) in  two different states in that state's high school boys basketball tournament at the level of Semi-state or beyond. Not that many are that fortunate to be able to coach/play in those collegiate venues. Sit back, relax, share, and enjoy!
